In addition to his life peerage Lord Heywood of Whitehall promoted to Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath. (GCB) Sadly Lord Heywood of Whitehall passed away not long after receiving these honours.

Life Peerage and GCB for Permanent Under Secretary to the Cabinet Office
Her Majesty The Queen granted Sir Jeremy John Heywood KCB CVO the title of Baron Heywood of Whitehall, of Glossop in the County of Derbyshire for the duration of his life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.
He was nominated for a Life Peerage following his service as Permanent Under Secretary to the Cabinet Office.
