The King of The Netherlands made Knight of the Garter

Her Majesty the Queen has appointed His Majesty The King of The Netherlands a Stranger Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter (KG).

Her Majesty awarded the King the highest honour of the United Kingdom as part of the State Visit that His Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Máxima are currently undertaking in the UK.

The King’s mother HRH Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands former Queen of The Netherlands also holds the honour of Stranger Knight which she received in 1989.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced that they are expecting a baby. The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.

Queen Reappoints Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland for 2019

Her Majesty the Queen has reappointed His Grace The Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry KT KBE DL FSA FRSE to the position of Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland for 2019.

His Grace The Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry will be the Queen’s personal representative within the Church of Scotland. As the Lord High Commissioner, The Duke will carry out the opening and closing addresses at the General Assembly.

New Chief Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London

Yeoman Gaoler Pete McGowran has been appointed to the position of Chief Yeoman Warder to the Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London. The Yeoman Gaoler succeeds CYW Christopher Morton MVO who has retired from the Tower.

Pete McGowran entered service as a Yeoman Warder in 2009 and was elevated to Yeoman Serjeant in 2013 then went on to become the Yeoman Gaoler in 2017.

Queen Revokes Former Probation Officer’s MBE

Her Majesty The Queen has decreed that the following person shall have their Honour cancelled, annulled and their name shall be erased from the Register of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Mr Michael Nathan Cohen to be stripped of an MBE awarded on 30th December 1998 after being convicted of multiple counts of possessing and making indecent images of children and has been sentenced to an eight month suspended prison sentence, 10 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be registered on the sex offenders register for also 10 years.

It’s a Girl for Zara and Mike Tindall

On the 18th June 2018, Mrs Zara Tindall gave birth to a baby girl weighing 9lb 3oz at Stroud Maternity Unit, Gloucestershire. Mr Tindall was present at the birth.

The baby is yet to be named and is currently 19th in line to the throne of Britain and the Commonwealth realms.

Her Majesty the Queen, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, Captain Mark Phillips and Mr Philip and Linda Tindall are all delighted with the news according to the official press release.
