Her Majesty The Queen has granted Dr Robert Thomas William McCrea the title of Baron McCrea of Magherafelt and Cookstown, of Magherafelt in the County of Londonderry and Cookstown in the County of Tyrone for the duration of his life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.
He was nominated for a Life Peerage following his service as a Member of Parliament. Lord McCrea of Magherafelt and Cookstown will sit in the House of Lords for the Democratic Unionist Party.
