Life Peerage for the Former Principal Private Secretary to His Majesty The King

His Majesty The King has granted The Right Honourable Sir Edward Young GCB GCVO the title of Baron Young of Old Windsor, of Old Windsor in the Royal County of Berkshire for the duration of his life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.

Sir Christopher was nominated for a Life Peerage following his retirement as Principal Private Secretary to His Majesty The King.

Lord Young of Old Windsor will sit in the House of Lords as a Crossbencher.

Life Peerage for New Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health

Her Majesty The Queen has granted Ms Nicola Claire Blackwood the title of Baroness Blackwood of North Oxford, of North Oxford in the County of Oxfordshire for the duration of her life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.

Life Peerage and GCB for Permanent Under Secretary to the Cabinet Office

Her Majesty The Queen granted Sir Jeremy John Heywood KCB CVO the title of Baron Heywood of Whitehall, of Glossop in the County of Derbyshire for the duration of his life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.

He was nominated for a Life Peerage following his service as Permanent Under Secretary to the Cabinet Office. In addition to his life peerage Lord Heywood of Whitehall promoted to Knight Grand Cross of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath. (GCB) Sadly Lord Heywood of Whitehall passed away not long after receiving these honours.
