Life Peerage for Former MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed

The Rt Hon. Sir Alan James Beith has been granted the title of Baron Beith, of Berwick upon Tweed in the County of Northumberland. Under the Life Peerage Act 1958 and will sit in the House of Lords as a Liberal Democrat.
