Spain – United Kingdom State Visit

Her Majesty the Queen will host a state visit by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain from 6th to 8th June 2017. The King and Queen of Spain will stay at Buckingham Palace. The visits itinerary is expected at a future date.

New Lieutenant Governor of Jersey

Her Majesty the Queen has appointed Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton GCB LLD(Hon) DSc(Hon) BSc FRAeS CCMI to the office of Lieutenant Governor of Jersey in succession to General Sir John Chalmers McColl KCB CBE DSO whose term in office has ended.

The Lieutenant Governor is the monarch’s personal representative within the Bailiwick of Jersey and serves for a term of five years.

New Chief Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London

Yeoman Gaoler Christopher Morton has been appointed to the position of Chief Yeoman Warder to the Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London. The Yeoman Gaoler succeeds CYW Alan Kingshott MVO who has retired from the Tower.

Christopher Morton entered service as a Yeoman Warder in 1998 and was elevated to Yeoman Serjeant in 2003 then went on to become the Yeoman Gaoler in 2012.
