Yeoman Gaoler Pete McGowran has been appointed to the position of Chief Yeoman Warder to the Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London. The Yeoman Gaoler succeeds CYW Christopher Morton MVO who has retired from the Tower.
Pete McGowran entered service as a Yeoman Warder in 2009 and was elevated to Yeoman Serjeant in 2013 then went on to become the Yeoman Gaoler in 2017.

MVO for the Chief Yeoman Warder to Her Majesty’s Tower of London.
Mr Christopher John Morton has been appointed a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) for his service as Chief Yeoman Warder to the Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London.

New Chief Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London
Yeoman Gaoler Christopher Morton has been appointed to the position of Chief Yeoman Warder to the Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London. The Yeoman Gaoler succeeds CYW Alan Kingshott MVO who has retired from the Tower.
Christopher Morton entered service as a Yeoman Warder in 1998 and was elevated to Yeoman Serjeant in 2003 then went on to become the Yeoman Gaoler in 2012.
