King of Sweden Names Royal Baby

Yesterday King Carl XVI Gustaf announced to the Swedish cabinet that Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris O'Neill have named their daughter Leonore Lilian Maria.

The baby princess will be styled Her Royal Highness Princess Leonore of Sweden. King Carl XVI Gustaf has given his granddaughter the title Duchess of Gotland. Princess Leonore is fifth in line to the Swedish throne.

Life Peerage for Former Chief of the Defence Staff

General Sir David Julian Richards GCB CBE DSO has been granted the title of Baron Richards of Herstmonceux, of Emsworth in the County of Hampshire. Under the Life Peerage Act 1958 and will sit in the House of Lords as a Crossbencher.

Princess Madeleine, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland gave birth to a baby girl on the 20th February 2014 at 10:41pm (EST) in New York, USA. Her husband Christopher O’Neill was at the birth.
