New Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen

Her Majesty the Queen has appointed the Reverend Canon Susan Field to be a Chaplain to Her Majesty within the Royal Ecclesiastical Household in succession to the Reverend Canon Ann Eater.

Ms Iona Sara McDonald MA LLB DL has been appointed by Her Majesty the Queen to become Lord Lieutenant for Ayrshire and Arran succeeding Mr John Duncan CVO QPM who retired on the 15th October 2017.

New Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen

Her Majesty the Queen has appointed the Reverend Canon Andrew Studdert-Kennedy to be a Chaplain to Her Majesty within the Royal Ecclesiastical Household in succession to the Reverend Canon Dr. Paul Avis.

Life Peerage for the Former Chairman of the BBC Trust

Her Majesty The Queen has granted Ms Rona Alison Fairhead CBE the title of Baroness Fairhead, of Yarm in the County of North Yorkshire for the duration of her life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.

Ms Fairhead was nominated for a Life Peerage by the Prime Minister following her appointment to the Government as Minister of State in the Department for International Trade.

As Ms Fairhead is not a Member of Parliament (MP) she has to be appointed to the House of Lords so she can take her role in the Government.

Baroness Fairhead CBE will sit in the House of Lords on behalf of the Conservative Party.

Life Peerage for Norfolk Businessman

Her Majesty The Queen has granted Sir Theodore Thomas More Agnew DL the title of Baron Agnew of Oulton, of Oulton in the County of Norfolk for the duration of his life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.

Sir Theodore was nominated for a Life Peerage by the Prime Minister following his appointment to the Government as Parliamentary Under-Secretary in the Department for Education.

As Sir Theodore is not a Member of Parliament (MP) he has to be appointed to the House of Lords so he can take his role in the Government.

Lord Agnew of Oulton DL will sit in the House of Lords on behalf of the Conservative Party.
