Life Peerage for the Former Chairman of the BBC Trust

Her Majesty The Queen has granted Ms Rona Alison Fairhead CBE the title of Baroness Fairhead, of Yarm in the County of North Yorkshire for the duration of her life under the Life Peerage Act of 1958.

Ms Fairhead was nominated for a Life Peerage by the Prime Minister following her appointment to the Government as Minister of State in the Department for International Trade.

As Ms Fairhead is not a Member of Parliament (MP) she has to be appointed to the House of Lords so she can take her role in the Government.

Baroness Fairhead CBE will sit in the House of Lords on behalf of the Conservative Party.
