Australian war hero General Peter John Cosgrove AC MC has
been nominated by the Prime minister of Australia, Tony Abbott to become the 26th
Governor-General of Australia.
Her Majesty the Queen has accepted the Prime
Ministers nomination.
General Cosgrove will succeed the current Governor-General,
Her Excellency The Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO who’s stepping down in March
2014.

Baby girl for Queen’s Granddaughter
Zara Tindall has given birth to a baby Girl weighing 7lb 12 oz at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Her husband Mike was at the birth.
The baby is yet to be named and is currently 16th in line to the throne of Britain and the Commonwealth realms.
Mr and Mrs Tindall were married at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh on the 30th July 2011.
The Princess Royal and her ex-husband Captain Mark Phillips are said to be delighted with the news of their third grandchild.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh has also expressed their joy at the news of the birth of their fourth great-grandchild.

Princess Claire of Luxembourg is Pregnant
The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg have announced that their son Prince Félix and his wife Princess Claire of Luxembourg are expecting their first child in June 2014.
Prince Félix and Princess Claire were married on 17th September 2013 (civilly) and on the 21st (religiously).
Following this announcement it looks like 2014 in shaping up to be busy year when it comes to royal Babies with Zara Phillips and Princess Madeleine of Sweden both expecting in the coming weeks.
