Life Peerage for Former Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister

The Rt Hon. Edward David Gerard Llewellyn OBE has been granted the title of Baron Llewellyn of Steep, of Steep in the County of Hampshire. Under the Life Peerage Act 1958 and will sit in the House of Lords as a Conservative.

Lord Llewellyn of Steep has been appointed to be Her Majesty’s next Ambassador to France and will take office in November 2016.

CVO for the Deputy Ambassador to France

Mr Tim Brownbill has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea succeeding Mr Graham Styles who is stepping down in April 2014.

New British Ambassador to Vietnam

Mr Giles Lever has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam succeeding Dr Antony Stokes LVO who is stepping down in July 2014.

Mr Giles Lever is currently the Deputy High Commissioner to Federal Republic of Nigeria.
