New Governor-General of Australia Announced

Australian war hero General Peter John Cosgrove AC MC has been nominated by the Prime minister of Australia, Tony Abbott to become the 26^th Governor-General of Australia.

Her Majesty the Queen has accepted the Prime Ministers nomination.

General Cosgrove will succeed the current Governor-General, Her Excellency The Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO who’s stepping down in March 2014.
