CVO for Former Governor-General of Australia
Her Majesty The Queen has appointed General The Honourable Sir Peter John Cosgrove AK MC, Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) for his service as Governor-General of Australia.

Governor-General of Australia Revokes disgrace’s Stars Honours
His Excellency General The Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC has cancelled and annulled the honours awarded to Mr Rolf Harris.
Mr Harris’s Appointments as Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) and Member of the Order of Australia (AM) shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the Order of Australia.
Mr Rolf Harris was found guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault on children. He was sentenced to a total of five years and nine months in prison.

New Governor-General of Australia Announced
Australian war hero General Peter John Cosgrove AC MC has
been nominated by the Prime minister of Australia, Tony Abbott to become the 26th
Governor-General of Australia.
Her Majesty the Queen has accepted the Prime Ministers nomination.
General Cosgrove will succeed the current Governor-General, Her Excellency The Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO who’s stepping down in March 2014.
