King of Sweden Names Royal Baby

Yesterday King Carl XVI Gustaf announced to the Swedish cabinet that Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris O'Neill have named their daughter Leonore Lilian Maria.

The baby princess will be styled Her Royal Highness Princess Leonore of Sweden. King Carl XVI Gustaf has given his granddaughter the title Duchess of Gotland. Princess Leonore is fifth in line to the Swedish throne.

Life Peerage for Former Chief of the Defence Staff

General Sir David Julian Richards GCB CBE DSO has been granted the title of Baron Richards of Herstmonceux, of Emsworth in the County of Hampshire. Under the Life Peerage Act 1958 and will sit in the House of Lords as a Crossbencher.

New Lord Lieutenant for East Lothian

Major Michael Ingouville Williams MBE DL has been appointed by the Queen to become Lord Lieutenant of East Lothian succeeding the late Sir William Garth Morrison KT CBE.

Baby girl for Princess Madeleine of Sweden

Princess Madeleine, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland gave birth to a baby girl on the 20th February 2014 at 10:41pm (EST) in New York, USA. Her husband Christopher O’Neill was at the birth.

The baby‘s name and Title is to be announced by her grandfather King Carl XVI Gustaf

Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill KNO were married in Stockholm on the 8th June 2013.

New Lord Lieutenant for Orkney

Mr James William Spence DL has been appointed by the Queen to become Lord Lieutenant of Orkney succeeding the late Anthony Trickett MBE.

New Honorary Surgeon to the Queen

Her Majesty the Queen appointed Air Commodore A. M. Amos to be an Honorary Surgeon to her Royal Household.

New Honorary Physician to the Queen

New Honorary Dental Surgeon to the Queen

Her Majesty the Queen appointed Air Commodore Group Captain T. A. B. Nelson to be an Honorary Dental Surgeon to her Royal Household.

New Constable of Lancaster Castle

Her Majesty the Queen, acting in her position as Duke of Lancaster has appointed Mrs Pam Barker DL to the position of Constable of Lancaster Castle following the retirement of Mr Gordon Arthur Johnson.

New British High Commissioner to New Zealand

Mr Jonathan William Rossiter Sinclair LVO has been appointed Her Majesty’s High Commissioner to New Zealand succeeding Mrs Victoria Treadell CMG CVO who is stepping down in August 2014.
