Her Majesty The Queen (1926-2022)

On the 8th of September 2022, Her Majesty The Queen passed away peacefully in the afternoon at Balmoral Castle, aged ninety six.

His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort were at Balmoral Castle with Her Majesty The Queen when she passed away. The announcement was made public at 6.30pm BST. 

In his Statement following Her Majesty The Queen's passing His Majesty The King said

'The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family. 

We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother.  I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.  

During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.' 

Following the announcement to the public, Clarence House announced that His Majesty The King intends to take the regnal name of Charles and will be His Majesty King Charles the Third. 

Accession Council will take place on 10th September 2022 at St James's Palace when His Majesty The King will formally be proclaimed.

I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. My thoughts are with Her Majesty's family at this terrible time. We have lost a truly remarkable monarch who dedicated her whole life to her people.

HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (1921-2021)

Friday 9th April 2021

Today Her Majesty announced the passing of her beloved husband His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh who passed away peacefully in the morning at Windsor Castle, aged ninety nine.

The Government has announced that all official flags, including the Union Flag, are to be flown half-masted on all UK government buildings until 8am on the day following His Royal Highness’s funeral.

In light of the ongoing situation with Covid-19, the Royal Household has asked that people not gather at Royal Residences and lay floral tributes.

Tomorrow Saturday, 10th April at midday, a Gun Salute will be fired at locations across the United Kingdom and Gibraltar and onboard Her Majesty’s Ships (HMS). The Gun Salutes will be broadcast online and on television, members of the public are encouraged to watch from home because of Covid-19.

Prince Philip’s titles Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich now pass to his eldest son HRH The Prince of Wales.

HRH The Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh is survived by his wife, Her Majesty The Queen.

His four children: HRH The Prince of Wales, HRH The Princess Royal, HRH The Duke of York and HRH The Earl of Wessex and Forfar.

His eight grandchildren: Mr Peter Phillips, Mrs Zara Tindall, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, HRH The Duke of Sussex, HRH Princess Beatrice, Mrs Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs Jack Brooksbank, Lady Louise Windsor and James,Viscount Severn.

Finally his ten great-grandchildren: Miss Savannah Phillips, Miss Isla Phillips, HRH Prince George of Cambridge, Miss Mia Tindall, HRH Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, HRH Prince Louis of Cambridge, Miss Lena Tindall, Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, Master August Brooksbank, Master Lucas Tindall.

HRH Prince Henrik of Denmark has Passed Away

His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark husband and consort of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Denmark passed away last night at Fredensborg Castle at the aged 83. Her Majesty Queen Margrethe and their two sons Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim were at his bedside.

My thoughts and condolences to Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark, her two sons Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim and the rest of the Danish royal family at most difficult time.
