Canada Honours Prince Philip

His Excellency The Rt Hon. David Johnston CC CMM COM CD FRSC(hon) FRCPSC(hon) Governor General of Canada has appointed Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh an Extraordinary Companion of the Order of Canada (CC) and a Commander of the Order of Military Merit (CMM) for his lifelong service to the Canadian people.

New Governor of the Bank of England

Her Majesty the Queen has approved the appointment of Mr Mark J Carney to the office of Governor of the Bank of England. Mr Carney is the Current Governor of the Central Bank of Canada and Chairman of the Financial Stability Board. He will take office on the 1st of July 2013 and leave in 2018.

Royal Tour of Canada

Today marks the start of The Prince of Wales’s and The Duchess of Cornwall’s tour of Canada to celebrate Victoria Day and The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The tour will last three days and cover three provinces of Canada.
