Tony Blair made Knight of the Garter

Her Majesty the Queen has appointed The Right Honourable Anthony Charles Lynton Blair a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter (KG).

Her Majesty has awarded Mr Blair the highest honour of the United Kingdom as part of the New Year Honours List 2022.

Mr Blair was Member of Parliament for Sedgefield from 1983-2007, Leader of the Labour Party from 1994-2007, Leader of the Opposition from 1994-1997 and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997-2007.

Baroness Amos made Lady of the Garter

Her Majesty the Queen has appointed The Right Honourable Baroness Amos CH PC a Lady Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter (LG).

Her Majesty has awarded Baroness Amos the highest honour of the United Kingdom as part of the New Year Honours List 2022.

Baroness Amos was elevated to the House of Lords in 1997, She served as a Baroness-in-Waiting from 1998-2001, Secretary of State for International Development in 2003, Leader of the House of Lords and Lord President of the Council from 2003-2007, British High Commissioner to Australia from 2009-2010 and UN Undersecretary General of Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator.
